Messi, Mbappe, and Haaland walk into a bar. Haaland and Mbappe buy Messi whatever he wants because he is the best and they respect that and so should you!
Group I – The Group of Death-ish. Now that pretty much everyone goes into the knockout stage (32 of 48) and there are so many teams to start off with it is hard to have a real group of death. But this is probably as close as it gets. (Although Group E and Group L have an argument too)
France 3 (98/359) v. Iraq 0 (94/374)
Mbappe 2, Dembele 1, Iraq 0. Iraq yet again looked pretty good for the first half, but could not get a goal. Mbappe had a screamer of a goal. Then there was a weather delay for a very long time and when everyone came back it was a France show. Mbappe’s second goal came from Iraw messing up their own goal kick. You generally don’t want to mess up your own goal kick. Also a bit unbecoming on Mbappe to get such a terrible goal. A real stain on his goal record. France is through to the knockouts.
Norway 3 (150/256) v. Senegal 2 (62/560)
Erling Haaland is good. He got two goals, but unlike his other superstars he needed someone else on his team to score so that his team can win. A little embarrassing if you ask me (which you all are by reading this). It is great that he got two goals, but a true superstar makes his team win, they are not just concerned with scoring two beautiful goals. Essentially, Haaland pretty much failed today by not getting three goals. Even with that failure, his team have now advanced onto the knockouts. An interesting thing though, the 2nd goal for Senegal made France the leader of the group, so now France can stay in the lead with just a tie in their game against Norway, while Norway needs a win to take the lead.
Group J – if only we got Australia into this group, would have been phonetically satisfying.
Argentina 2 (15/1,002) v. Austria 0 (123/302)
Messi 2 – everyone else 0. As the gentlemen and scholar that Messi is, he choose to not score a pk early in the game. He knew that that goal would make him the all time leader in world cup goals and, unlike some people (Mbappe, cough cough), Messi respects the game too much to make the pk the goal that puts him there. Messi also decided to not score another goal a few minutes later because he is a good guy who did not want to make Austria feel too bad. But then Messi finally found the perfect moment and get his 17th world cup goal and become the all time leading scorer. As an insurance policy, Messi then got his second to go to 18 overall world cup goals. (Mbappe is now tied for second all time with 16 goals) Argentina is through to the knockout rounds. Austria is still probably going to go through as well since pretty much everyone goes through.
Jordan 1 (108/332) v. Algeria 2 (114/319)
Algeria won. Jordon probably bye bye.

Group K
1 pm – Portugal v. Uzbek – Portugal will obviously win this. There is no way that they couldn’t win this. I mean that would be crazy right? They will defiantly win it. Ronaldo is too good to not win this game. I am sure he will get lots of goals. I mean he is THE SUPERSTAR! He will for sure be really good and win the game for Portugal. But what if he didn’t….no we can’t even think that. That is impossible. Portugal will win and win big!
10 pm – Colombia v. DR Congo – DR Congo needs the win to stay alive, Colombia win=into knockout
Group L
4 pm – England v. Ghana – winner to knockout, likely as group leader
7 pm – Panama v. Croatia – need a win to stay alive
