You know that I try to keep this an educational program. So this round you will be learning about how many birds are in each country and that country’s rank in the world for number of birds. You will be seeing (1/34,536) – 1 is the rank and 34,536 is the number of birds in the country.
Group A
Czechia (137/282) 1 v. S. Africa (30/762) 1
One of these teams needed to win to stay alive, buuuttt instead they decided to tie. Not only did they decide to tie, the tie came off a terrible penalty kick call. Look at this picture

Back in my day (old man on front porch), if it was ball to hand then it was not a handball, but if it was hand to ball then it was a handball. There was nothing the Czechia defender could have done different. Also his hand was not out of his body in an unnatural position. This should not have been a pk. VAR is the worst (sometimes).
Mexico (11/1094) 1 v. S. Korea (99/357) 0
The Korea goalkeeper really dropped the ball on this one. Literally, he dropped the ball when he tried to catch a ball in his box and ran into his own player, and then a Mexican player tapped the ball in. That was how the only goal in this game was made. As my eldest and shortest brother said, this goal is the officially nominated for least inspirational. It also should count as more of an own goal than Lukaku’s goal. More than all of that, Korea looked like a completely different team than the one that played Czechia, and Mexico made this a sloppy CONCACAF game. Mexico is into the knockout stage, and they just need to tie their next game to win the group. Similarly, Korea only needs a tie to move on.
Group B – After teeing 1-1 in the first round, this group decided it need to make up on goals.
Swiss (135/286) 4 v. Bosnia & Hertz (139/281) 1
It was the 70th minute and I walked out of my office to do some work. The game was 0-0. I missed the rest of the game, what happened? Well what happened was one of the wildest 20 minutes in soccer. The game ended 4-1 and B&H had a red card. The Swiss were already overwhelming B&H and got 1 in. Then B&H get a red and the wheels fell off. Swiss are in a good spot. B&H, not so much.
Canada (70/495) 6 v. Qatar (165/230) 0
First off, DO NOT look up the Canadian injury from this game. Second, it is bold strategy to get two red cards (Qatar). This was an expanded tournament game. Good for Canada.
Tomorrow’s games
Group C
6 pm – Scotland v. Morocco – Morocco needs the win, Scotland needs a tie
Up here in the Northeast, where the Tartan Army have made their home, Scotland is the talk of the town. They are drinking Boston dry, cleaning up the parks, and having the best time ever. Also, this kid rocks [
LETS GO SCOTS
8:30 pm – Brazil v. Haiti – Brazil needs to win
Group D
3 pm – USA v. Australia – Winner to knockout, likely as the group leader
If you do nothing else tomorrow, support the USA and watch this game. This could be a very tricky match up for us. We have shown we can dominate, but Australia have shown they have a deadly counterattack. These two styles of play could compliment each other, and if they do that plays into the hand of Australia. We need to score many and score early. If not, butts will be puckered
11 pm – Turkey v. Paraguay – need to win to stay alive
FOX BOYCOTT Minute
This has nothing to do with Fox but I forgot to mention it yesterday. I hate when a player runs too much after scoring a goal. The first Austrian player that scored ran a mile before finishing his celebration. He is the worst. When you are a teammate you naturally run after the player that scored to celebrate. But, when that guy just keeps running all you can think is “please for the love of god stop running!” This is one of the only really moments you have to chill out for a hot second. It is honestly so selfish of the scorer to run too much, like we get it you scored but calm down. I honestly rather a guy get a yellow for taking his shirt off then run as much as the Austrian player did. The Lesson: don’t run any further than the corner flag after scoring a goal. Shout out Charles Makinde. #BOYCOTTFOX
Also this made me laugh #BOYCOTTFOX
