S. Africa 0 (the most southern country in Africa) v. Canada 1 (the most northern country in North America) – Pretty good eh. Soorry South Africa. Canada should have scored multiple times in the first half but ended up getting the goal in the 90+1. Again, however, this game matters not. They will be spanked in the next round.

As for the rest of the knockout bracket. The least exciting quadrant is Argentina’s, which means that they have one of the best possible routes to getting through to the end. Apart from them, Colombia is the second best team in that section, but they would not face each other until quarterfinals.
Here is my list of the best games for Round of 32 and Round of 16.
Round of 32
– Netherland v. Morocco – this is the heaviest of the heavy weight battles in this round. Both teams have hopes of going all the way.
– Portugal v. Croatia – this is a battle of big names, but I am not sure how good of a game it will be
– Belgium v. Senegal – As you know, I am OVER Belgium. They are the most frustrating team to watch. They ended the group play well so maybe they have found something, but Senegal is probably an equally good team (not as good individually).
– Brazil v Japan – this is almost the heaviest but falls in to the second tier of heavy weights. This will be good.
– Ivory Coast v. Norway – similar to the last one, this is in the second tier of heavy weights. Both teams are young and talented. This will be fun.
– Mexico v. Ecuador – Ecuador came into this tournament as a dark horse, but so far they have looked like a dumb horse. Mexico is Mexico (ie they don’t inspire me), but playing at home could be the key.
Colombia v Ghana – both teams have high hopes, only one moves on
Round of 16 (lots of assumptions)
– Germany v. France – wow, big time
– Croatia/Portugal v. Spain – a match up we have seen many many times and that produce great games
– USA v Belgium – USA USA USA! Also, we must avenge our extra time loss to Belgium in the 2014 World Cup. We must avenge Timmy Howard who had one of the greatest performances of all time!
– Brazil/Japan v. Ivory Coast/Norway – give me any combination
– England v. Mex/Ecuador – should be a good game
Tomorrow’s Games – tomorrow’s going to ROCK!!!
1 pm – Brazil v. Japan
4:30 pm – Germany v. Paraguay
9 pm – Netherlands v. Morocco
Here are my predictions for the Round of 32
